The Prosecutors’ Vetting Commission has approved two evaluation reports

Chisinau, 11 August 2025. The Prosecutors’ Vetting Commission has completed its assessment of the ethical and financial integrity of Victor Muntean, Interim Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, and Gheorghe Caragia, prosecutor at the same institution. Following the review, the Commission concluded that both prosecutors meet the integrity standards set forth by Law No. 252/2023 and issued an Evaluation Report for each of both subjects, recommending their promotion in the external evaluation process.

During the evaluation, the Commission collected and analyzed data from public sources and relevant institutions, including the National Integrity Authority, the Office for the Prevention and Combating of Money Laundering, other public bodies, databases, and financial institutions.

The evaluation reports have been submitted to the subjects and to the Superior Council of Prosecutors, which is to adopt decisions within 30 days, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 252/2023.
