The Prosecutor Vetting Commission (Panel B) has decided to terminate the evaluation procedure, in line with Law No. 252/2023, for two prosecutors from the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office – Grigore Niculiță and Eugenia Zubco. The decisions were sent today to the two prosecutors and to the Superior Council of Prosecutors (SCP).

Both prosecutors had already been evaluated under Law No. 26/2022, which regulates the selection of candidates for the position of members in the self-administration bodies of judges and prosecutors. Both successfully passed that evaluation. Grigore Niculiță ran for a position on the SCP Selection and Evaluation Board, and Eugenia Zubco ran for a position on the SCP Discipline and Ethics Board. On December 10, 2024, the Commission issued Decision No. 27 and Decision No. 24, respectively, confirming that the candidates met the ethical and financial integrity criteria and therefore passed the evaluation.

Under Article 3 of Law No. 252/2023, “evaluation under this law shall not be applicable to persons who have passed the integrity evaluation in accordance with Law No. 26/2022”. Therefore, “the Panel decided to terminate the evaluation procedure” of the two prosecutors under Law No. 252/2023, the Commission’s decisions state.
