The Prosecutor Vetting Commission (Panels A and B) held public hearings on Friday with five prosecutors from the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office: Elena Cazacov, Vitalie Codreanu, Anatolie Ciuleacu, Ghennadi Epure, and Victor Cazacu.

Prosecutor Elena Cazacov noted that the evaluation procedure was a difficult one, but it confirmed to her that she “led an honest life and maintained a correct professional conduct.”

“I am glad that I was able to go through this process and review my personal records both from ethical and financial perspectives. I believe this process is important for the rule of law and for our country,” stated prosecutor Ghennadi Epure.

Prosecutors Vitalie Codreanu, Anatolie Ciuleacu, and Victor Cazacu also shared their impressions of the procedure and extended their best wishes to colleagues awaiting integrity assessment.

The public hearings are part of the external evaluation procedure provided by Law No. 252/2023. To ensure transparency, video recordings will be available on the Commission’s website within three days: https://vettingmd.org/activitatea-comisiei/audieri/. Within 30 days, the Commission will draw up reasoned evaluation reports for each of the five prosecutors, containing the conclusion as to whether or not the evaluation was passed.
