The Prosecutor Vetting Commission has completed the ethical and financial integrity evaluation of Irina Catan, formerly assigned to the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office. Evaluation Panel B concluded that the prosecutor meets the criteria set out in Article 11 of Law no. 252/2023 and submitted to the Superior Council of Prosecutors (SCP) the recommendation for her to pass the external evaluation. The Commission’s report will be published after the deadline for contesting the CSP’s decision, in accordance with the legal procedure.

The evaluation involved a thorough analysis of the declarations of assets and personal interests over the past five years, as well as other relevant information regarding the subject’s ethical and financial integrity, collected from 140 sources. During the procedure, the Commission requested clarifications from the prosecutor through four rounds of written questions, followed by public hearings held on 17 October 2025. To date, the Commission has received the names of 191 prosecutors for external evaluation. 49 evaluations have been completed, 29 prosecutors resigned or were excluded from the procedure, 113 evaluations are ongoing.
