The Prosecutor Vetting Commission has added two additional hearings to its December schedule, to be held on 19 December 2025:
- 15:30 – Vitalie Ivanov, Prosecutor in the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office
- 16:00 – Victor Cazacu, Prosecutor in the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
Prosecutor Victor Cazacu will be re-heard. His first hearing took place on 7 November 2025 and was conducted by Panel B of the Prosecutor Vetting Commission. As the members of Panel B did not reach the unanimous vote required to approve the evaluation report, in accordance with Law no. 252/2023, the report was forwarded to the Commission for further review. Following this review, the Commission decided to hold a repeated hearing to clarify certain relevant issues. The video recording of Victor Cazacu’s hearing on 7 November 2025 is available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNN6OOAY-0A.
Both hearings will take place at the National Institute of Justice. To ensure transparency, they will be public and recorded in audio and video. The recordings will be published on the Commission’s website within three days: https://vettingmd.org/en/commission-activity/hearings/.
Evaluation subjects have the right to review the materials in their evaluation files prior to the hearings. They may also submit additional information in writing and provide explanations regarding any issues raised by the Commission. Throughout the evaluation process, subjects are entitled to legal assistance from a lawyer or trainee lawyer.
