The Prosecutor Vetting Commission will hold a second hearing in closed session with Interim Prosecutor General Alexandru Machidon on January 13, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., at the National Institute of Justice.
Alexandru Machidon was previously heard on December 10, 2025, and a recording of that hearing is publicly available here. Following the initial session, further clarifications from the prosecutor are required, prompting the decision to schedule an additional hearing. In accordance with the Panel’s decision and applicable legal procedures, the questions raised will be addressed in a closed session.
Under Law No. 252/2023, subjects of evaluation may review the materials in their evaluation file prior to the hearing. They may also submit additional written information and provide explanations regarding any issues raised by the Commission. Throughout the evaluation process, subjects may be assisted by a lawyer or a trainee lawyer.
