The Prosecutor Vetting Commission has completed the evaluation of ethical and financial integrity in respect of four prosecutors from the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office: Vasile Disculțu, Iulian Diaconu, Radu Palencu, and Vasile Plevan (resumed evaluation procedure).

Following the assessment, Evaluation Panel A determined that prosecutors Vasile Disculțu and Iulian Diaconu meet the ethical and financial integrity criteria set out in Article 11 of Law No. 252/2023 and recommended that they pass the external evaluation.

Regarding prosecutor Radu Palencu, the Panel concluded that he does not meet the financial integrity criteria and recommended that he fail the external evaluation.

In the case of prosecutor Vasile Plevan, the Superior Council of Prosecutors (SCP), on 19 February 2026, rejected Evaluation Panel A’s report of 21 January 2026 and ordered a resumed evaluation. Following the examination of the issues identified by the SCP, the hearing of the subject, and the revision of the methodology for assessing the subject’s involvement in the handling of a criminal case, the Panel proposed that the subject fail the external evaluation, finding that he does not meet the ethical integrity criteria.

The evaluation and re-evaluation reports have been transmitted to the subjects concerned and to the SCP. In accordance with the law, the reports will be published after the expiry date for appealing SCP decisions or within three days of the issuance of final judgments by the Supreme Court of Justice.
