The Prosecutor Vetting Commission has completed the ethical and financial integrity assessment procedure concerning three prosecutors: Eduard Varzar and Ghenadie Pîrlii, both from the General Prosecutor’s Office, and Veaceslav Potînga, a prosecutor with the Chișinău Municipal Prosecutor’s Office. Eduard Varzar and Veaceslav Potînga were assessed in relation to their previous positions as prosecutors within the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.

Following the assessment, the evaluation panels concluded that the three prosecutors do not meet the financial integrity criteria set out in Article 11 of Law No. 252/2023 and recommended that they fail the external evaluation.

The evaluation reports have been transmitted to the evaluated subjects and to the Superior Council of Prosecutors (SCP).

In accordance with the applicable legal provisions, the reports will be made public after the expiry of the deadline for challenging the SCP decisions, or within three days following the issuance of final rulings by the Supreme Court of Justice.
