On August 25, 2026, Panel A of the Prosecutor Evaluation Commission held a hearing with Ion Șlicari, a prosecutor currently delegated to the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office.
The hearing followed three rounds of requests for clarification submitted by the Panel as part of the evaluation process. At the same time, the Commission collected and analyzed information relevant to assessing the prosecutor’s ethical and financial integrity from public sources, as well as from authorities, companies, and private individuals.
Following its review of the information gathered, the Panel identified several matters requiring further clarification and discussed them with the prosecutor during the hearing.
The issues addressed included discrepancies between assets, expenses, and income during two years under review, as well as the circumstances surrounding the use, purchase, possession, and sale of several vehicles, including the purchase at prices below market value.
Part of the hearing was held behind closed doors at the prosecutor’s request to protect the privacy of third parties.
