Two More SCP Boards Candidates to Be Heard in a Public Session

During 26 – 27 November 2024, the Prosecutor Vetting Commission is to hear another two candidates for the Superior Council of Prosecutors’ (SCP) Boards. The prosecutor Ina Fencovschi is seeking membership in the SCP’s Selection and Evaluation Board, while the prosecutor Iancu Zaporojan is vying for the position of member of Discipline and Ethics Board.

The hearings will take place at the National Institute of Justice (1, S. Lazo Street), according to the following schedule:

Individuals, civil society, and media representatives may attend the hearings by notifying the Commission at the email address press@vettingmd.org, by Monday, 25 November, at 12:00. Notifications should specify the participant’s name, surname, and the represented organization, if applicable.

Video recording, photography, or live broadcasting are not allowed. The video recordings in Romanian and English will be available on the Commission’s website and YouTube channel.

The Prosecutor Vetting Commission was tasked to evaluate the financial and ethical integrity of a total of 32 candidates for SCP’s Boards. To date, the Commission has held 25 hearings and issued 18 decisions.
