The Prosecutors’ Vetting Commission has completed its evaluation of Marcel Dumbravan, Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office (APO), finding that he meets the ethical and financial integrity standards outlined in Law No. 252/2023, which regulates the external vetting of prosecutors. As a result, the Commission issued a formal report recommending that Dumbravan pass the external evaluation.

The assessment included a detailed review of his asset and interest declarations, as well as other relevant information concerning his ethical conduct and financial integrity. As part of the process, Dumbravan also took part in a public hearing, where he responded to questions from Commission members.

The evaluation report was shared today, July 28, with both Dumbravan and the Superior Council of Prosecutors, which must issue a final decision on the recommendation within 30 days.
