The Prosecutors’ Vetting Commission has recommended that Mariana Leahu, Interim Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, pass the ethical and financial integrity assessment conducted under Law No. 252/2023.
The Commission’s evaluation report has been submitted to both Ms. Leahu and the Superior Council of Prosecutors (SCP), which is expected to issue a decision on the recommendation in due course.
As part of the external assessment process, the Commission reviewed relevant information concerning Ms. Leahu’s ethical conduct and financial integrity. The process also included a public hearing, during which Ms. Leahu had the opportunity to respond to questions posed by Commission members. Based on its findings, the Commission concluded that Ms. Leahu meets the legal integrity requirements and formally recommended that she pass the evaluation.
According to Law No. 252/2023, the CSP has 30 days to review the report and either confirm or reject the Commission’s recommendation.
