The Prosecutor Vetting Commission has completed the ethical and financial integrity evaluation of the Interim Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS), Victor Furtuna, as well as Prosecutor Mihail Ivanov from the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office. The Commission concluded that the prosecutors meet the criteria set out in Law No. 252/2023 and approved the evaluation reports, confirming that they have passed the external evaluation.
The evaluation procedure included the review of the prosecutors’ declaration of assets and personal interests, for the last five years, the ethics questionnaire, and a list of close persons working in the judiciary, prosecution and public service. Relevant information collected during the evaluation was verified, including data obtained from public authorities, organizations and institutions both public and private, as well as from information systems, individuals, financial institutions, and open sources.
For clarification, the prosecutors responded to four rounds of written questions and participated in public hearings held on 25 July and 8 August.
