The Prosecutor Vetting Commission has completed the external evaluation of Grigore Clevadî, a prosecutor with the Anti-corruption Prosecutor’s Office. Evaluation Panel B concluded that the prosecutor meets the ethical and financial integrity criteria established by Law No. 252/2023 and submitted to the Superior Council of Prosecutors (SCP) its recommendation for him to pass the evaluation. The evaluation report will be published after the expiry of the deadline for appealing the SCP’s decision.
As part of the procedure, the Commission collected information about the prosecutor and his relatives from multiple sources, including: the National Integrity Authority, the State Tax Service, the General Inspectorate of Border Police, the Customs Service, the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Superior Council of Prosecutors, the Public Services Agency, other public institutions, as well as private entities, including financial-banking institutions and open sources. The Evaluation Panel analyzed the information in terms of its accuracy and relevance to the evaluation procedure. To clarify the issues identified during the analysis, the Panel sent the prosecutor three rounds of written questions and requested supporting documentation. The SCP is expected to issue its decision on the Commission’s recommendation within 30 days. To date, the Commission has received the names of 191 prosecutors for external evaluation. A total of 49 evaluations has been completed, 29 prosecutors resigned or were excluded from the procedure, 113 evaluations are ongoing.
