The Prosecutor Vetting Commission has completed the external evaluation procedure of Vitalie Codreanu, a prosecutor with the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, and proposes that he passes the external evaluation. The evaluation report was sent on 22 December 2025 to both the prosecutor concerned and the Superior Council of Prosecutors (SCP).
The report will be made public after it is reviewed by the SCP, the relevant decision is adopted, and the appeal period has expired.
During the evaluation, Panel A of the Commission examined information related to the prosecutor’s ethical and financial integrity, in line with Law No. 252/2023. The panel also requested additional clarifications through two rounds of written questions.
The doubts identified by the Panel were communicated to the prosecutor in the hearing notice and subsequently discussed during the public hearing. The recording of the public hearing is available here: link.
The Superior Council of Prosecutors is expected to rule on the Commission’s proposal within 30 days.
