The Prosecutor Vetting Commission has completed the evaluation of Anti-Corruption Prosecutor Vasile Plevan and found that he does not meet the ethical integrity criteria set out in Law No. 252/2023. As a result, the Commission has proposed that he fail the external evaluation. The evaluation report was unanimously approved by Panel A and was transmitted today to the subject of the evaluation and to the Superior Council of Prosecutors (SCP). Within 30 days, the SCP is to decide whether to accept or reject the Commission’s report.

On December 10, 2025, Prosecutor Vasile Plevan was heard by Panel A. At the request of the subject of the evaluation, the Panel agreed to examine, in a closed session, the matters requiring clarification. The public part of the hearing is available at the following link.

Pursuant to Law No. 252/2023, the evaluation report will be made public after the expiration of the statutory deadline for challenging the SCP’s decision or, where applicable, within no more than three days from the issuance of a final decision by the Supreme Court of Justice.
