The Prosecutor Vetting Commission informs that its international member Ms. Saskia de Vries, will conclude her activity within the Commission as of 1 May 2026. Her resignation request has been submitted to the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.

“Being part of the Commission has been an honor and an interesting experience. However, I have decided to step down from the Commission due to personal circumstances,” stated Ms. Saskia de Vries. She also expressed her appreciation for the cooperation within the Commission and wished the Republic of Moldova success in completing the external evaluation process.

To ensure continuity and the smooth conduct of the evaluation process, the international member will, prior to her departure, finalize the cases for which she has been appointed as rapporteur. In addition, the Commission has agreed on an internal working mechanism designed to prevent any impact on ongoing evaluations.

The members of the Prosecutor Vetting Commission thank Ms. Saskia de Vries for her professionalism, expertise, and valuable contribution to the Commission’s work throughout her mandate. Ms. Saskia de Vries was appointed by Parliament as a member of the Prosecutor Vetting Commission in October 2023. She is a retired senior prosecutor from the Netherlands and, during her career in the Prosecution Service, led organized crime and corruption cases for over 20 years.
