The Prosecutor Vetting Commission informs that the outcome of the ethical and financial integrity evaluation of the Interim Prosecutor General, Alexandru Machidon will be published within 30 working days.
The members of Evaluation Panel A did not reach a unanimous vote on the draft report. Pursuant to the procedure established by Law No. 252/2023, where unanimity is not achieved within the evaluation panel, the report is referred to the full Commission for examination. Within no more than 30 working days from receipt, the report is approved by a majority vote of the Commission members, including at least three international members.
The Prosecutor Vetting Commission was established under Law No. 252/2023 and is mandated to conduct the one-off evaluation of the ethical and financial integrity of certain categories of prosecutors, including the leadership of the Prosecutor General’s Office and prosecutors from specialized prosecution offices. The applicable integrity criteria are those set out in Law No. 252/2023 and concern ethical conduct, the absence of incompatibility and conflicts of interest, as well as the justification of assets and tax compliance, within the limits and timeframes established by law.
