The Prosecutor Vetting Commission announces the continuation of hearings involving prosecutors from the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office. Four hearings are scheduled for next week.
On April 21, starting at 16:00, Stanislav Odajiu, a prosecutor seconded to the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, will be heard in a closed session.
On April 22, two hearings will take place:
• at 16:00, Anti-Corruption Prosecutor Iulian Diaconu will be heard;
• at 16:30, Anti-Corruption Prosecutor Vasile Plevan will be heard in a closed session, in a resumed procedure.
We recall that, on January 21, 2026, Panel A of the Commission issued an evaluation report concerning Vasile Plevan, proposing his non-passing of the external evaluation due to failure to meet the ethical and financial integrity criteria set out in Article 11 of Law No. 252/2023. The report was rejected by the Superior Council of Prosecutors, which ordered the resumption of the evaluation procedure on February 19, 2026.
On April 23, starting at 14:00, Prosecutor Ion Pripa, Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, will be heard. This round of hearings marks the completion of the evaluation process of the newly appointed leadership of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, appointed in November 2025.
The hearings will take place at the National Institute of Justice (1 Serghei Lazo Street, Chișinău), Training Room 005. All hearings will be recorded, and the recordings will be published on the Commission’s website within three days of the hearing date.
Subjects of evaluation have the right to review the case materials prior to the hearing and may submit additional written information or explanations. They may also be assisted by a lawyer or a trainee lawyer. More information on the Commission’s work and the evaluation criteria is available on the official website: https://vettingmd.org/.
