Late last week, Evaluation Panel A heard Prosecutor Liliana Partole of the Chișinău Municipal Prosecutor’s Office. The evaluation is conducted in connection with her previous service as a prosecutor seconded to the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
As part of the ethical and financial integrity assessment, the Commission collected information from multiple sources, including the National Integrity Authority, the State Tax Service, the General Inspectorate of Border Police, other public authorities, financial institutions, and open sources. In addition, the prosecutor was asked to respond to two rounds of written questions and provide supporting documentation.
Following its review of the collected materials, the Evaluation Panel informed the prosecutor that certain issues required additional clarification during a public hearing. The prosecutor agreed to participate in the hearing, while requesting that discussions concerning the first issue included in the notice of hearing be held in closed session, for the protection of third parties’ privacy. The Panel approved the request.
During the public portion of the hearing, Panel members addressed the issue of an undeclared loan. A recording of the hearing is available here: https://youtu.be/tkRxTnFNHRg
