On Friday, Evaluation Panel B heard Prosecutor Armen Oganesean from the Chișinău Municipal Prosecutor’s Office, a subject of the external evaluation under Law No. 252/2023, in connection with his previous position as a prosecutor seconded to the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
As part of the process of assessing ethical and financial integrity, the Commission collected information from multiple sources, including the National Integrity Authority, the State Tax Service, the General Inspectorate of the Border Police, the Prosecutor General’s Office, financial institutions, other public authorities, as well as open sources. The information was subsequently verified and cross-checked in terms of its accuracy and relevance for the external evaluation.
The Panel then issued clarifying questions and requested additional supporting documents through three successive rounds of written inquiries. The subject responded within the established deadlines to all requests submitted by the Commission.
“I consider it an honour to have participated in this exercise. I approached the process with openness and transparency and understood it as my duty to provide all relevant information in an objective manner. External evaluation is essential for strengthening the rule of law and for the irreversible path towards the European Union,” the prosecutor stated during the hearing.
The hearing recording will be published within three days on the Commission’s official website. The evaluation report is expected to be issued within the statutory deadline of 30 working days.
