The Prosecutor Vetting Commission has published the evaluation and resumed evaluation reports concerning Prosecutor Alexandru Cernei of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office. The reports recommend that the prosecutor pass the external evaluation under Law No. 252/2023 and set out the relevant facts, the analysis conducted, and the reasoning supporting the conclusion reached by Evaluation Panel B.

The reports are published in accordance with Law No. 252/2023, within the statutory deadline – no later than three days from the expiry of the time limit for challenging the Superior Council of Prosecutors decision.
The Prosecutor Vetting Commission is mandated to conduct a one-off assessment of the ethical and financial integrity of certain categories of prosecutors, including the leadership of the Prosecutor General’s Office and prosecutors from specialized prosecution offices.
