The Prosecutor Vetting Commission has issued evaluation and re-evaluation reports concerning two prosecutors from the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office – Stanislav Odajiu and Andrei Balan.

Following the completion of the assessment of ethical and financial integrity, Evaluation Panel A recommended that Stanislav Odajiu pass the external evaluation, in accordance with the criteria set out in Article 11 of Law No. 252/2023.

Regarding prosecutor Andrei Balan, the Panel proposed that he fail the external evaluation following the resumed evaluation procedure. The re-evaluation was initiated after the Superior Council of Prosecutors (SCP) rejected, on 2 October 2025, the Commission’s initial report proposing a failure. The SCP raised issues regarding the determination of savings at the beginning of the evaluation period, the plausibility of certain loans, and the methodology used to assess household consumption expenditures. During the resumed evaluation, the Panel re-examined and addressed these issues and concluded that Andrei Balan does not meet the financial integrity criterion.

The evaluation and re-evaluation reports have been transmitted to the prosecutors concerned and to the SCP. In accordance with the law, the reports will be made public after the expiry date of the deadline for challenging the SCP decisions or within three days following the issuance of final rulings by the Supreme Court of Justice.
