In September, the Prosecutor Vetting Commission will begin conducting hearings as part of the evaluation process for prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS). At the same time, the Commission continues the hearings of prosecutors currently serving or previously seconded to the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office.
The first hearings are scheduled as follows:
- 15 September at 14:30, continuing on 16 September at 9:00 – Evaluation Panel F will hear Valeriu Sîrbu, a PCCOCS prosecutor;
- 16 September at 13:30 – Evaluation Panel E will hear Ion Brînza, a PCCOCS prosecutor;
- 18 September at 13:00 – Evaluation Panel A will hear Petru Iarmaliuc, a prosecutor with the Chișinău Municipal Prosecutor’s Office and a former prosecutor seconded to the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office;
- 18 September at 13:30 – Evaluation Panel B will hear Dumitru Robu, Deputy Chief Prosecutor of PCCOCS and former Acting Prosecutor General.
The hearings are public, and interested persons may attend as observers. Part of Ion Brînza’s hearing will be held in closed session to protect the privacy of third parties.
The hearings will take place at the National Institute of Justice, Training Room 005 (1 Serghei Lazo Street, Chișinău).
