The B Panel of the Prosecutor Vetting Commission conducted two public hearings on Friday as part of the external evaluation procedure provided under Law No. 252/2023.

The first to be heard was Grigore Potoran, Deputy Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Chișinău Municipal Prosecutor’s Office, who was evaluated in his former capacity as an anti-corruption prosecutor.

“I understand the importance of this process for strengthening public trust in the prosecutorial system. I believe this process must be objective and based on evidence and facts. I had the opportunity to present my position and answer all the questions raised by the Commission. I thank you for the professionalism and respectful manner you demonstrated throughout the entire evaluation process,” said Grigore Potoran.

The second person heard was Vadim Prisăcari, a prosecutor with the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office. Commission members asked questions about the origin of certain income, expenses, and savings, including money transfers into Moldova following his participation in the U.S. Work and Travel program. Questions also concerned the business activities of the prosecutor’s parents, his previous employment with companies managed by them, as well as the acquisition of agricultural land and an apartment received from his parents.

During the hearing, he had the opportunity to provide explanations and submit documents and other evidence in support of his position.

The evaluation reports for both prosecutors will be adopted within 30 working days.
